Who We Are

The Hub Fins Swim Team is a community team, located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. We offer competitive swimming to ages 6 years and older, ranging in ability levels from beginning/novice to the national level swimmer. Our team is a member of USA Swimming. We are members of Mississippi Swimming and the Eastern Section of the Southern Zone of USA Swimming.

Hub Fins is the most recognized swim team in the Pine Belt area. The team has twice been awarded a Bronze Medal from USA Swimming in their Club Excellence program (2013 & 2015). The team is currently at level 2 of the national Club Recognition program which rewards clubs for not just swimming excellence but team structure/business acumen.

Past swimmers have gone on to represent the Hub Fins at US Olympic Trials.  From state record holders to first-time swimmers, Hub Fins is the place for you to learn skills that will make you better in and out of the pool.

Come try out to become a member of not only a team, but a family!

Our Beginnings
In 1961 a group of interested parents, swimmers, and coaches formed the Hub Fins Swim Team. The name “Hub Fins” was derived from the Hattiesburg area’s reputation for being a transportation “hub” throughout its history. These dedicated individuals operated the team as a private, non-profit, volunteer-run organization until 2005 when the team became a program of the The Family YMCA of Southeast Mississippi. In the fall of 2022, a group of committed coaches and parents reorganized and returned the team to a community-based, non-profit, parent-run organization. Today the team continues to offer Pine Belt swimmers an opportunity to participate in competitive swimming and continue the tradition of developing, teaching, and training area youth.
