Hub Fins Weather Policy
Hub Fins practices will proceed as scheduled unless otherwise announced. We follow the weather policy of the pool where we are practicing—please refer to each location's specific guidelines.
Weather-Related Cancellations
- Any practice cancellations will be posted on GroupMe and emailed to all registered members.
- For major storms, a decision will typically be made by 12:00 p.m. on the day of the event. If practice is not canceled, no additional updates will be sent.
Rain & Lightning Policy
- Heavy Rain: Practice will continue as scheduled.
- Lightning: We follow the weather policy of the pool where we are practicing—please refer to each location's specific guidelines. Per YMCA policy, the pool will close if lightning is detected within a 10-mile radius and will remain closed for at least 30 minutes after the last lightning strike. Practice will resume once the storm passes.
- During pool closures due to weather, swimmers will participate in dryland exercises. Swimmers should always bring a t-shirt, shorts, and athletic shoes to be prepared for dryland activities on stormy days.
